Trauma Training Initiative Information for Health Professionals (eLearning) - Alberta Health Services

This training was mentioned in the December 12, 2025 Parent-Partner Network meeting as something that may be of interest to parent partners who deliver peer support to NICU families.

From the website:

The Trauma Training Initiative is a two-part training program designed to build foundational knowledge and practical skills for working with individuals and families affected by trauma and violence. Grounded in trauma and violence-informed principles, this training supports professionals in creating safe, compassionate, and responsive environments across diverse practice settings.

Participants will explore the core concepts of trauma and its impact on individuals and communities, while developing competencies to apply trauma and violence-informed and trauma-focused approaches in their daily work.

  • Part 1: Trauma and Violence-Informed Care (TVIC) eLearning Series

  • Part 2: Trauma-Focused (TF) Skills Workshop Series (available to internal learners only)

If anyone is interested in doing the eLearning on the same schedule (i.e. complete one module a week on your own but meet virtually to discuss) I am thinking of doing this training in March/April.
