In 2025, the Canadian Premature Babies Foundation hosted its very first Little Lights, Big Hearts Gala and it became something truly unforgettable.
What began as a hopeful idea unfolded into a beautiful, touching evening filled with light, connection, and deep emotion. Families, healthcare professionals, advocates, and supporters gathered in one room to honour premature babies, reflect on shared journeys, and celebrate the strength of this remarkable community.
From the candle-lighting ceremony to the stories shared, the energy in the room was unmistakable. There were moments of quiet reflection, moments of joy, and moments that reminded us why this work matters so deeply. It was a night marked by care, intention, and an overwhelming sense of togetherness.

Every year, 1 in 10 babies worldwide is born too soon. In Canada alone, 32,000 babies are born prematurely each year, facing significant health challenges from their very first breath.

This is an evening created with care for families, for champions of neonatal care, and for everyone who believes that every preterm baby deserves a future filled with possibility.
